Standards We Follow
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are widely recognized as the benchmark for web accessibility.
Accessibility Features
Our website includes the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy for screen reader navigation.
- Keyboard navigation support — all interactive elements are accessible without a mouse.
- Skip-to-content link to bypass navigation and access main content quickly.
- Sufficient color contrast ratios between text and backgrounds in both light and dark themes.
- Descriptive alt text for all meaningful images.
- Accessible forms with properly associated labels, clear error states, and logical tab order.
- Minimum 44×44px touch targets for all interactive elements on mobile devices.
- Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels up to 200%.
- ARIA attributes where appropriate to enhance screen reader compatibility.
- Reduced motion support for users who prefer minimal animation.
Theme & Display Options
Our website offers both light and dark color themes. The theme can be toggled using the sun/moon button in the navigation bar. The default theme is based on your operating system preference. Your selection is saved for future visits.
Both themes maintain WCAG AA contrast ratios to ensure readability.
Third-Party Content
Our website may include content from third-party services such as Google Maps, Google reCAPTCHA, and Yelp. While we make every effort to choose accessible third-party tools, we cannot guarantee full accessibility of content controlled by external providers.
If you encounter difficulties with any embedded third-party content, please contact us and we will do our best to provide the information in an alternative format.
Ongoing Efforts
We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website. Our efforts include:
- Regular accessibility audits using automated tools and manual testing.
- Testing with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.
- Incorporating accessibility best practices into our development process.
- Addressing reported issues promptly and thoroughly.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas of the website may have limitations. We are actively working to identify and resolve these. Known areas under improvement include:
- Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen readers.
- Certain third-party embedded widgets may have limited accessibility features.
- Complex interactive components are being progressively enhanced with ARIA support.
